Pixie Films was founded in 2005 by James Price and Liz Colbert, whom he met during his studies at Kingston University in 2000.

Initially, the company was focused on art direction and graphics for TV & Film, then in 2007 they teamed up with producer Mani Roberts and the trio began developing a slate of films, many of which are genre-based.
